08.03.2010 ORAK Engineering has implemented a comprehensive solution for Customer Relationship Management. The project had been realized with the professional contribution of company Balkan Services. The project covers the customer offices in Bulgaria, USA, Turkey, Romania, Macedonia, Serbia, Russia and Dubai and includes full integration with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office Communication Server (MOCS), as well as business trade and tourist platforms of the company ORAK R5 and ORAK R6.

The current number of the users who work with the application is 50 with a tendency to increase. The project of implementation is internal for the company and ORAK Engineering recognizes as its leading partner and consultant Balkan Services with its expertise and professionalism in CRM solutions. The project in Orak Engineering is among the few such large-scale implementations of CRM systems in Bulgarian companies. The system involves the whole management of the company – a holding structure with a head quarter in Plovdiv (branches in 6 cities in Bulgaria) and offices in USA, Turkey, Romania, Macedonia, Serbia, Russia and Dubai. The system maintains the specific marketing, sales and service process of the company and the interaction between them. Supported is the opportunity to maintain different price lists by locations and countries, discounts and clients for each division. 08.03.2010 Balkan Services has implemented Qlik View in Danone Danone and the Bulgarian consulting company Balkan Services have realized successfully a project on implementation of Business Intelligence product QlikView. On its base was built the solution for reporting and business analyses.
The application provides daily operative reports for sales, replacing the currently used OLAP cubes.

23.12.2009 Balkan Services implemented ex-van sales with Atlantis ERP and BI solution in Amperel Balkan Services completed the implementation of ex-van sales in Atlantis ERP and Business Intelligence (BI) solution QlikView in the leading distributor company Amperel. The project for implementation of Atlantis ERP started in cooperation with Acsior and was successfully completed this year by implementation of all core modules of one whole and integrated ERP system with 50 concurrent users, together with more than 90 users for the ex-van part.The main part of the Business Intelligence solution QlikView was completed for only ten days and is focused mainly on sales and budget, where many dynamic reports were developed, which allow data analysis in many different aspects, on-click and within seconds.

23.12.2009 Balkan Services Implemented QlikView in Dar Retail Chain Operator Balkan Services implemented Business Intelligence solution QlikView in Nikon NK Company, owner of Dar retail chain operator. The project uses the advantages of the new server version of the Business Intelligence solution QlikView and includes integration with the current system POSMaster of SIS Technology, as well as generation of business analyses, that are specific for the client’s activities. The project was fulfilled for less than 2 months and many of the reports were used by the sales department even before the project was completely finished.

07.12.2009 Balkan Services implemented ERP and BI solutions in Elmec Sport Balkan Services completed the implementation of ERP system Atlantis ERP and Business Intelligence solution QlikView in Elmec Sport Bulgaria, official dealer of NIKE and CONVERSE in Bulgaria.The project includes integration between Atlantis ERP and QlikView, as well as automation of the connection between the logistic partners of the company.

01.11.2009 Days of Information and Communication Technologies 2009 The first of its kind exhibition: Days of Information Technology 2009 was held from 28th to 31st October, 2009 in Inter-Ekspo Center Sofia.
The exhibition presented recent developments of important areas of IT – server solutions, personal and mobile computers, peripheral devices and network solutions, telecommunication technologies, multimedia products, business management software, as well as new decisions by the Bulgarian software developers and others.
At this exhibition Balkan Services participated by building their own stand, where presented leading products and solutions in the field of Business Intelligence – product Qlik View, and ERP solutions – Atlantis ERP, CRM - MS Dynamics CRM.
Parallel to the days of information technology, and 2009 was held Expoprint & Imaging - Specialized exhibition for design, photography, printing, advertising and visual communications.
Balkan Services has built a vertical ERP solution in this area, which is already implemented in companies in the printing industry.

17.06.2009 Altek has signed an agreement with seven leading banks to increase capital by € 40 million An agreement as consortium has been signed between Altec S.A . and seven Greek banks Altec S.A. is known as developer of business software and as one of the largest IT companies in the Balkans. This consortium increased the capital of Altec SA by 40 million euros.

The company has 27 years experience in developing software solutions and is regional provider of software for business management with over 500 000 licensed users in Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Romania, Serbia, Egypt and Turkey. 09.06.2009 QlikView Ranks #1 for Ease of Use and Customer Loyalty in World’s Largest Independent Survey of Business Intelligence Users Business Intelligence (BI) decision to QlikTech, QlikView, is ranked top spot on the indicators “ease of use " and ”consumer loyalty” in the eighth edition of the BI Survey - the largest independent study of consumers in the areas of Business Intelligence and Performance Management.

The survey clearly showed that QlikView customers were the most loyal in comparison with those of other solutions for Business Intelligence. Indicator, which, according to the survey author Nigel Pendse, is among the most important for each product because maintenance revenue and sales of additional licenses to existing customers are much more profitable than winning business from new customers. The Customer loyalty is particularly valuable indicator, especially during the recession, because the fact that customers do not refuse the services of a company, despite the crisis may be valuable benchmark for companies that has yet to choose a BI solution.

12.03.2009 Balkan Services finished the implementation of CRM system at Optim-Al Balkan Services finished the implementation of CRM system at Optim-Al (www.optim-al.com), one of the biggest companies at mobile technologies and logistics. The duration of the project was three weeks and it was finished at January. The solution includes all business processes in the departments of Sales, Marketing and Services.
The whole information about accounts, contacts and all activities related with them (phone calls, faxes, e-mails, meetings, etc.) was migrated from the old system into the new one.
As a result from the implementation of CRM system, all department managers can monitor salesmen activities and their interest in sales process. The reports are more detailed and optimized. At every moment the team leader can look for the salesman revenue and the customers’ service. The implementation includes support contracts, helpdesk (front/back office) and unified database with solution of the customers’ problems (Knowledgebase). The flexibility of the system, user-friendly interface and the personal treatment of the customers are a guarantee for better customer service. All marketing campaigns are managed in the system. That’s the way managers can control the budget and ROI from them.
One of the most important features of the system is the work off-line. The print forms of all documents (quotes, offers, orders, invoices) are done according the customers requirements.
The application is completely integrated with MS Outlook. The non - stop data exchange between applications make the users’ work easier and decrease the time for the operations.

19.02.2009 Top Drinks Finished a large business intelligence project Top Drinks (leading distributor of beer, hard and soft drinks ) IT team in cooperation with Balkan Services successfully completed the integration of a Business Intelligence solution – Qlik View. In three months a data base and interfaces to the basic systems used in the company were developed. A lot of references were made concerning commercial and other types of activities. One of the basic systems, data sources in the company, is the ERP Microsoft Axapta solution.
According to Pavel Stefanov, Director of Information Department in Top Drinks, the short time needed for training of end users allowed his team to focus on the business meaning of data, but not on the software platform, on which the solution is realized. As an advantage for QlikView he identified also the acceptable license price, which combined with lower time consumption in development of new references results in low overall TCO and good price / benefits proportion.

02.02.2009 Student Wins the BASSCOM Programming Tournament The tournament was hosted by the consulting company Balkan Services, Melon Technologies and Sirma Group

Ivan Lyubenov, a former student of Miguel de Servantes Spanish Language School, Sofia, won the tournament of the Bulgarian Association of Software Developers (BASSCOM– http://www.basscom.org), which was hold as a third round of PC Magazine Bulgaria and Musala Soft’s programming contest.Ivan is a student and takes part in the contest for the first time – computers are his hobby and he is not engaged professionally with informatics. He is interested in photography and has worked as a system administrator. The second place took Georgi Yordanov, age 17, an 11th grade student in the High School of Mathematics and Science, Sliven, a class of Informatics, and on the third place – Aleksander Georgiev, a II-year student in St Kliment Ohridski Sofia University, who was also the winner in the final round of the last year programming contest.

„To me, the fact that a former language school student became a winner of this programming contest round is indicative. This means that IT industry development does not concern only IT businesses, narrowly orientated specialists and students in informatics, but everybody in software industry which becomes more and more global”, announced Mr. Filip Mutafis, a Managing Partner of Balkan Services, when awarding the winner.

29.01.2009 Balkan Services Offers ERP – Solution to Printing Field The Bulgarian consulting company Balkan Services offers a vertical ERP – solution, specialized for printing companies. It is based on Atlantis ERP and concentrates the entire information for the activities of a printing establishment – from the production, trough trade and finance, in a unified system with distributed and controlled access. The solution eliminated the necessity of external communication channels between dealers, designers and printers, due to centralized planning and tracing of the article throughout the entire production cycle. There is also no need of accounting and reference peripheral systems. All processes are automatically accounted. All incomes and expenditures have been observed as well as the full production cost of every single article in all production stages. The effectiveness of dealers, designers and printers is been tracked out, the wastage of basic material is been accounted in terms of articles and categories, as well as the production spoilage. Production documents accounting the used material and the engaged machines are prepared automatically.

The system covers also a number of specific processes attaching additional value to the overall solution. They include production planning per machine units in an optimal order, palleting and packaging according to destinations (with barcodes), planning of specific finishing works with automated price formation as well as an automated offering based on full planned prime costs. Balkan Services has already realized two successful ERP projects in the printing field for the companies Typo Print and Belpack.

25.06.2008 Balkan Services and EIBank have signed Agreement for cooperation on European projects Balkan Services has signed an Agreement for cooperation with Economic and Investment Bank /EIBank/, targeted at providing consultancy services for customers for preparing and managing projects, co-financed with grants from the Structural Funds and other funds of the European Community.

28.03.2007 First Investment Bank chose Atlantis ERP Financials Balkan Services will implement Atlantis ERP Financials in First Investment Bank. The information system is document-oriented and will include the accounting of non-bank activities: management of long-term and short-term assets, issuing of invoices to the banks’ clients, expenses, cost centers, purchases and warehousing, data migration from current information system. It focuses also on purchases of gold and coins and safety vaults’ contracts.
