The main purpose of the project was to create a completely automated process of taking orders through a mobile device used by the sales representatives on a predetermined route. The focus was directed to collecting extensive information on the market of perishable goods and analyzing it, as well as monitoring the brand’s product positioning and its presentation in relation to competitive brands.

The application handles the entire process – from registering activities at the locations, to processing the orders and sending them to the distributors. An important part of the project was building a connection between the mobile application and the ERP system of the company’s main distributor in Bulgaria (Microsoft NAV), through a connector. The possibility of taking a photo when visiting a location guarantees the completeness and credibility of information. This is the second project that has been carried out by the consulting company Balkan Services at Unilever. Up to this moment, Unilever has been using Business Intelligence technology for analysis and reporting.

“The newly introduced system allows us to create a clear strategy for implementing new products and expanding the product range according to each location’s individual needs. The possibility for the sales representative to react immediately to a client’s request ensures flexibility and helps us build special relations with the clients,” stated Marian Georgiev, Manager of Market Development at Unilever Bulgaria.

“Creating vertical solutions in the Retail sector is one of the primary objectives of Balkan Services. The completed project is yet another proof of the need for mobile solutions and their role in building strong and long-lasting relationships with the clients,“ said Hristina Dimitrova, Head of CRM Department, Balkan Services.
